A small push again
May 9, 2008
As the Snowdrops
emerged into the frontlines,
small, apron whites
laughing at the frozen ground,
ready to unload sunlight
into grey-edged faces,
it seemed there was little life
to encounter
in Dead Plant’s Land.
“Do not enter, NO trespassers!”
Although chills can blindfold,
twist trees to barking propaganda
and set them a frozen half truth,
emotions restationed can thaw
with new orders to go towards,
not over the top, this time,
- this time.
For in just a brief while
there’s spotted a crack in the ice;
a flag stem holds a sway,
and this untrenched spring,
not one Snowdrop fell
or was lost in the push
to reclaim one meadow hill.

Sometimes your mind leaves me breathless with the thoughts you combine to create these poems. I never know which way to stand when I read them, they are so very truthful and revealing. Gives me chills.
