See beyond she said.
See beyond to what you are,
to what you could be.
For you are worth two fingers
against the world.
And if you knew the imaginings of Da Vinci
you’d be an inventor in kind,
or perhaps an Oskar Wilde play
would open its bag of tricks,
and your wit would be released anew.
If a sculptor, maybe Michelangelo
would hold out a palm and test your grip;
fingers to mould a sentiment from marble.
That would be something strong
to believe in wouldn’t it?
Human condition could be all this she said,
if only you knew yourself as some others did.
See beyond she said.
See beyond to what you are,
to what you could be.
For you are worth two fingers
against the world,
be ever unique.
