Seven nights at sea
sent shivers
and ocean song
through the ship’s bow;
shipwrecked I was.

Seven days ashore
left an impression
to stow away,
one tide might venture,
be the dawn’s release.

Seven days was a raft,
turned over and over,
yet there was survival
in a mermaid’s smile.

You are that siren my love,
where two waves meet.
