It left a mark,
fine line on my face
where I leant,
my hand folding my brow.

Knew I should have turned over
but just couldn’t relax,
was too at ill ease,
with this place,
this life, time.

Wasn’t the thought I wanted,
a bad cocktail for a Christmas
I hope never comes
now she’s mixed, leaving
me sober.
