Kafka almost said,
“I have now
and have had all afternoon
a great desire
to write
something for you.”
Remember words learnt
around a chinese garden?
From bridge to pool,
twin dragon entrance,
waterfall,
you translated everything.
I repeated them back,
Koi tails flicked responces,
unbroken circle.
Spring surrounded
my small efforts
in the descriptions of love,
verbs sprouted after
as “ich liebe dich.”
That I just do.
