Three medium cured salmon
preferably fresh, but defrosted will do.
A large broom handle, add tape for grip.
A piece of stiff twine.
Afix salmon to end of broom handle,
Spread the fish into a fan-like formation.
Get out your writer’s block,
remove previous poet’s badly composed suicide notes
that may be left on it, along with any cliches,
typos, poor punctuation, blood stains, fish heads etc.
Generally give those notes a good crit,
they’ll thank you for it later (maybe)
Once the block is clean pick up the broom
and beat the salmon onto the surface.
Repeat as often of necessary.
* This is a old Scandinavian cure, they seem to like it.
