A long journey traversed,
many roads I walked in a day,
slumbered in night fields,
to wake and continue on again.
In so many feet aching directions
until at last three rivers joined
which carried me along without effort
as one flow that lead to a gate.
The entrance was firmly closed,
wrought iron studded it pushed aside
any attempts to open, seemed a dam
was its strength behind.
Reluctant I turned aside, a bypass
my only route, but as I strode to leave
another traveller took my hand
and between us the barrier gave in.
