1965 Austin Healey (acrostic)

1 gear change too soon,
9 miles of metal tension,
6th closed station blinks past
5 o’clock counting white lines.

Again in the layside
under the bonnet,
should have checked the oil,
trusty stead will manage.
In behind the wheel,
notching past familiar places
how they reinvent themselves.
England doesn’t need
another era,
leave the millenium behind,
engage in a heyday of
yesterday’s chrome motor dreams.

hmm..cars, england, and poetry..methinks you have defined yourself.

Ah, this was for a challenge where you had to write an acrostic for a car, and I do like Austin Healeys.
