A couple of poems for B

The Quirk at work

The quirk at work,
can be a delicious thing,
you find it under tables
or sitting on a comfy chair,
quite unaware of its charm,
but don’t be alarmed.

It swings from the leg lamps,
gives the cat, cross-eyed cramps
watching it flit to and fro,
and it might just catch
you out mister, you well know.

Yes, the quirk is at work,
see how subtlety it lurks,
and when you least expect it,
it says the one thing you
thought it wouldn’t over tea,
“Kiss me!”

If you should dive off
into another moment,
it would be a sky fall
worth sharing,
no care about the complexity
of the footing of the landing.
It will take care of itself.

Although a beach
would be a good destination,
along waves of acknowledgement,
or a summer stretch of grass,
half in leaf shade, half bright
with a little sun remaining
from your smile.

And that would be enough
to realize you’ve found,
a soft place to touch down,
in favourite name jeans,
and in parachutes,
no longer felt worn blue,
or deflated by circumstances.

They will take care of themselves.

Say it as it is

“I am lonely.”

Three little words,
and four syllables.

Three words
and four syllables
negate them.

You, Miss, are not

“You are noticed.”

The best poetry writing tip, though, is to read poetry to write a good poem. Love Poems

    Poem #1: Oh yes do!

Poem #2 Seeing how you see me, delicious!

Poem #3 Now how can anyone resist such a man?

  5. Matt says:

“Love Poems”, yes of course, I agree, but these are just ‘off the cuff’ poems, written in the moment like diary entries.

  6. nectarfizz says:

I happen to think they are perfect just as they are..and they are just as much poetry as any out there…

  7. Paul Squires says:

I agree with Bekki, they are lovely poems. And it is definitely her in them, wonderfully captured. I like the way the style of the poems reflects Bekki’s style too, like there is a kind of fusion in them of the two of you. The magic of art, the magic of love.

  8. Matt says:

    Thanks Paul 🙂

  9. nectarfizz says:
